Relationship between symbols and components
In Capital Electra X, all symbols have a reference (e.g. R1) and are initially organized into a single group, where they can be assigned to one or more components. Users can then divide these symbols into further groupings, where each group can also be assigned to one or more components.
Drawings and the component database
Once you completed your schematics, you should use Manage components to assign components to your symbols. Component information, including dimensions are stored on a component database, so that these information can be easily reused without the need to type them all over again.
Once you assigned components, the component information are copied and stored inside your drawings. This ensures portability, where any changes to component databases will not affect your drawings.
